The Dutch government has announced that all maintenance obligations will be indexed by 3.4 % as of the 1st of January 2023.
Child maintenance and partner/ spousal maintenance are automatically indexed by law on a yearly basis in The Netherlands. The indexation is applicable to court orders as well as maintenance agreements. The automatic indexation can only be wiaved by either a written agreement between parties or a (new) court order.
The percentages for previous years:
Due to higher inflation, the index correction is higher this year than in 2022.
If you did not index your maintenance in previous years extra maintenance may still be owing.
