E. (Elzemieke) Schouten

Elzemieke Schouten studied Dutch law at Tilburg University and has been working as a lawyer since May 2003.

Elzemieke previously owned her own lawfirm and worked for two medium-sized offices in Brabant. As of January 1, 2024, Elzemieke will be employed as a salary partner at the office of Bowmer Nuiten Noteboom in Dordrecht.
Dordrecht is not an unknown city for Elzemieke. Although she grew up in Brabant, she was born in Dordrecht.

Elzemieke has completed the Grotius Specialization in Employment Law and, as an employment law specialist, she can solve employment law issues that arise before, during and/or after the working relationship with employees. In these situations:

  • Elzemieke advises her clients in making the right choice;
  • she acts as a sparring partner for management and HR and/or P&C;
  • she coaches employees and self-employed people;
  • and, where necessary, Elzemieke take your case to court.

Elzemieke also helps you prevent and shorten (labor) conflicts. She does this, among other things, by determining the correct strategy with you in advance .

In addition to being a lawyer, Elzemieke is also an MfN registered mediator.

Preventing and shortening conflicts is also an important goal of mediation. Elzemieke mainly acts as a mediator in business disputes. She guides the parties involved in returning to negotiations and facilitates the process of finding a solution to the business and/ or employment law problem.

One of Elzemieke's strengths is that she can put herself in the position of her clients and connects quickly wih them. Because Elzemieke assists both employers and employees, she knows well what is going on "on the other side".

Employment law is people centrered and, as far as Elzemieke is concerned, solutions are truly tailor-made to this. Not only on a substantive level, but also on a strategic and tactical level. As a lawyer and mediator, Elzemieke sees it as a challenge to create a balance between business and personal interests in situations where the relationship between an employer and employee has been affected.
